VO Vintage renews its passion for vintage watches and jewellery

VO Vintage renews its passion for vintage watches and jewellery

From January 20 to 23, 2023, collectors and lovers of timeless jewellery icons and wristwatches will gather at the Vicenza exhibition center for the fourth edition of VO Vintage, a unique event on the national scene, not only for purchasing unique and valuable pieces, but also for negotiating with the best retailers and keeping up to date with experts on topics and trends.

The event, which is open to the public, lasts four days and takes place in the foyer on the first floor of the exhibition center, concurrently with Vicenzaoro January and T.Gold (January 20-24).

A true reference point for watch lovers and different generations of collectors, who can discover techniques, trends, and curiosities over the weekend thanks to a rich panel of events, seminars, interviews, and training sessions with opinion leaders and experts, the best dealers, associations, brands, and influencers.

The vintage watch and jewellery lounge will feature a selection of 35 brands. The finest watch dealers will be present, including Stefano Mazzariol's Vintage Watches, Tempus by Elvio Piva, Goldfingers by Roberto Verde, and Vintage Watches and Cars by Andrea Foffi, who returns to Vicenza as a collector with the second part of the “Magister Speedmaster Exhibition” (the first was at Vicenzaoro September 2022) dedicated to the most famous Omega watch models from his private collection. The Watch Passion association will also be present with a selection of 10 exhibitors, with the aim of bringing together and promoting the best watch dealers.

Representing vintage jewellery will be names such as Art Deco' Bijoux, Montegrandi Gioielli, Micol, Gioielleria Faelutti, and I Santi Medici.

The fourth edition of VO Vintage also hosts a rich panel of events.

On Saturday, January 21, Jacopo Spangaro, organizer of The One auction event and owner of Orologeria Spangaro in Udine, Antonio Follari, and Giancarlo Befera, collectors and members of L'Orologio Club, will discuss the characteristics of a watch collector, moderated by Dody Giussani, editor of L'Orologio magazine.

The latest trends in the international high-end market will then be discussed with Stefano Mazzariol, founder and CEO of Vintage Watches, Elvio Piva, founder and CEO of Tempus Padova, and Roberto Verde, president of the Watch Passion association, in a meeting moderated by Michele Mengoli and Jacopo Giudici, respectively director and founder and editor of Watch Insanity.

Bruno Bergamaschi (aka Giorgione), one of Italy's most renowned watchmaking experts, founder of Watchouse, and Vicenzaoro ambassador for watchmaking passion and culture, will be among the protagonists of the meeting on Sunday, January 22, entitled “Defending passion from counterfeiting and theft,” together with Mario Peserico, president of Assorologi, and Lorenzo Lucchinelli, founder of Ipsum - Identity for luxury goods.

Italian Watch Spotter will showcase collections from the 1990s and 2000s, as well as contemporary designs that evoke vintage styles. On Saturday, January 21, there will be a talk featuring Franco Armentano, founder of DHM, Fabio Bertini, manager of F.lli Pisa in Milan, and Michele Corvo, owner of Corvo & C and GMT Italia.

For technical training, Sunday, January 22, sees the return of the popular course held by Professor Ugo Pancani, from Geneva's FHH – Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie and member of the GPHG Academy.

VO Vintage is increasingly involving younger generations of collectors. On Saturday, January 21, in the talk “Collecting out of the box” curated by Andrea Casalegno, watch lover, consultant, and Instagram personality for IamCasa, he will discuss with three young influencers how collecting has changed and the growing role of social networks: Alessandro Fanciulli, collector and hunter of valuable pieces (on Instagram @mr.a), Joël Laplace, collector and executive assistant at the Zenith Heritage Department (@jojolamontre on social media), and Lorenzo Maillard, collector and content specialist at Watches and Culture, the cultural hub of FHH.

Sunday, January 22, will be the turn of “Vintage Game Changers,” featuring another key figure who has changed the rules of the game in the field of collecting: Jasper Lijfering, owner and CEO of Amsterdam Vintage Watches, one of the most prestigious boutiques for luxury vintage watches, with an online offering of high-end pieces for collectors around the world.
